T.A.C.S.A.F.E
Practical Filipino Kuntao Defense
Against Firearms and Edged Weapons
Rick Hernandez
Few
things are more terrifying than having to defend yourself, unarmed, against
an attacker holding a knife or a gun. To do this successfully, you need a
powerful combination of fighting spirit, sound tactics and devastating
technique. You need T.A.C.S.A.F.E.
T.A.C.S.A.F.E. (Tactical Awareness and Control Strategies Against
Firearms and Edged Weapons) is a dynamic program of empty-hand weapon
defenses based on the combat-proven techniques of Filipino Kuntao.
And Kuntao expert Rick Hernandez takes you step-by-step through this
unique program in this DVD. In doing so, he conveys what it takes to
successfully defend against an armed attacker.
Hernandez teaches you his street-proven defenses against close-range
slashing and stabbing attacks, including prison-style shankings. He also
reveals the secrets of his universal method of handgun disarms. From
simple deflections, evasions and avoidance tactics to hard-core disarms,
strikes, kicks, eye gouges and neck breaks -- this DVD covers it all.

In a world filled with dangerous individuals, one of the highest
compliments I offer is awarding someone "Crosshair Status." It is short
for "The only way I'd mess with him is through crosshairs." While the
idea of sniping someone from a great distance may not sound particularly
professional or complimentary, among the often grim humor of those whose
job it is to face danger it is an understood standard. It means that the
person is too good, too dangerous and too on top of his game to safely
take them down in any other way. Rick Hernandez is such an individual,
an ex-Brooklyn street thug and Army Ranger, the man was dangerous BEFORE
he started studying Kuntao. While my opinion is that pure kuntao is too
excessively brutal for self-defense, the concepts that make it extremely
effective can be scaled back to operate within judicious use of force
standards without losing their effectiveness. On the other hand for
individuals operating within combat zones or in high-risk professions
where quickly and effectively neutralizing an immediate threat is
necessary you're going to want to know the information in this tape. My
only complaint about his tapes is that while Rick is a funny, vivacious
and exciting teacher in person he stiffens up in front of a camera. He's
not going to get any academy awards for acting, but if you learn what he
is talking about in this tape, you might be around to watch the next
Academy Awards on T.V.
